Do you ever look at your work and think, “I feel like something’s been missing.” Or, “I used to feel differently when I looked at my photos, and now I feel… nothing.” Well, after having a four-year love affair with a single lens set-up, I’ve come to terms with the fact that something has, in fact, been missing.

Admitting that to myself is kind of a bummer. I really wanted a single lens set-up to work, because it gave me versatility via a versatile zoom lens and less back-pain because I was carrying less gear, but I was also missing something I could no longer deny: beauty.

That morning I called Ashley and, with quite a bit of uncertainty, I asked her if she wanted to move forward with photos that evening. The day prior, the forecast looked fine, but that morning it was looking a little… dreary come photo time. In most cases, rescheduling isn’t a big deal, but she was visiting from out of town, and obviously, because this is maternity, time was of the essence. If that baby decided to make an early arrival, well, such photos would be impossible.

Did I intend to spend the whole month reading books from female authors? No. Did it happen? Yes. Do I regret it? What do you think?! Heck no! It was a great, insightful month of reading, filled with diversity, struggle, mystery, and wanderlust. This post details every book I read this March with brief little bullet points.
